In November 2011 , Greg travelled to Barcelona to take up a one month artist residency (for which he had been selected earlier in the year ).Greg joined 10 artists and writers from the USA, France, Vietnam , UK , Ukraine and Norway in the studios of Can Serrat International Art Centre.
He also spent time visiting major museums including the Picasso Museum , Miro Foundation, Antonio Tapies Foundation, The Museum of Contemporary Art and the Archaeological Museum .Resident artists participated in a group exhibition in late November as part of a jazz festival at the arts centre. The work and research completed at this residency formed part of Greg's Masters degree at the University of New South Wales
On the same trip Greg also visited major museums and galleries in Seville , Granada and Cordoba ( Spain ) Singapore , London and Oxford ( UK ) Rangoon and Bagan ( Burma ). This travel experience created fresh impetus for his 2012 solo exhibition at Arthouse Gallery in Sydney
In March 2011 , the Governor General of Australia Ms Quentin Bryce was presented with a painting by Greg Mallyon.
The presentation was made at Government House Canberra by the CEO of the Board of The 2012 Australian Year of the Farmer . Ms Bryce is official patron of this national event. Greg's painting was an aerial view of North Queensland sugar cane fields and the Burdekin River.
This was a sight familiar to Ms Bryce in her previous role as the Governor of Queensland.
Sydney Exhibition opening a great success
On May 30 , 2012 Greg's exhibition Northern Exposure opened before a great crowd of well wishers and gallery clients . Sales were strong for this , Greg's 31st solo exibition .
Also in May , volume IV of International Contemporary Art published by ICA publishing, New York was released .Greg was invited to submit works for inclusion in this book which features 200 artists from around the world .
Greg is delighted to announce he has been a finalist in 5 national art awards . They include The 2012 Outback Art Award , The Wilson Art Prize and the 2012 Mosman Art Prize.
Greg's work was also among the hundreds of artists from around the world selected for the Art takes Times Square Project .Images of the selected artists were beamed on to billboards in Times Square New York for the duration of the project .
In July Greg completed his Masters degree at COFA in Sydney .Highlights of this degree included an environmental art course conducted at the UNSW research station at Fowlers Gap near Broken Hill and his artist residency in Barcelona .
These contrasting locations ( outback Australia and a major European city) provided a source of rich inspiration for his solo exhibition in June .This exhibition "Northern Exposure" was assessed as one of his last projects at COFA
Collaborative Project with Designer Boys Collections launched in Sydney
Greg is delighted to announce the launch of a new series of giclee prints created exclusively for Designer Boys Collections .Design duo Warren Sonin and Gavin Atkins are photographed with Greg at their stand at the 2013 Design and Decoration Fair in Sydney .
Prints were created from Greg's distinctive abstracts of the Australian landscape. A Melbourne launch of their new range will be in July 2013
Greg moved to the famous spa town of Daylesford in 2013 .An old garage has been renovated into a bush studio complete with resident kangaroos and "Dingo "
On April 1, 2013 Greg took up his place as artist in residence for 1 month at this famous printmaking institute in Venice . He joined other artists from Iran , Canada and the UK .
Activities included creating a new series of paintings and prints and studying techniques in bookbinding and screen printing. A suite of 8 etchings by Greg "The Flight path to Venice "was printed at the school by European printmakers.
In September Greg's etchings were included in the annual graduate and artists exhibition of the school held in the print studios at Carnareggio
A successful start to 2014 with the opening of Land and Sea at SALT Contemporary Art in Victoria's beach resort of Queenscliff .
Greg also exhibited in the annual summer exhibition at The Channon Gallery in NSW.
On April 5, 2014 the launch of The Flight Path to Venice suite of etchings took place at Angela Tandori Fine Art In Melbourne . Eight etchings created and published in Venice in 2013 were exhibited along with recent paintings from Greg's "Flight path " series . The Autumn edition of Imprint Magazine featured a story about Greg's 2013 residency in Venice .
Greg also commenced a long term commission for a Melbourne property developer to create a series of exterior and interior murals and site specific art works for a luxury apartment complex
From August 2014 ,Qdos Gallery in Lorne and Lauriston Press in Kyneton ,Victoria represent Greg's work .
On November 1 . Greg's studio was launched as part of the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges Open Studio Program . From humble begiinings as a garage this corrugated iron shed has been converted to a creative hub of activity.Over 250 art lovers visited the studio during the open studio program.
Greg participated in a group exhibition at CK Gallery Sydney opening on October 15 and on October 31 at his Daylesford studio he held his annaul sale as pert of the 2015 DMROS open studio program. .

Greg celebrated his 35th solo exhibition "Flight paths ""at SALT Contemporary Art , Queenscliff on October 30 , 2016 .It was received with strong sales following on from his successful Melbourne exhibition "Waterhole" at Manyung Gallery Malvern in May 12
2017 has been off to an international start with Greg's participation in the Singapore Affordable Art Fair ( April 2017) with great results Works were selected by Warner Bros to be used on the film set of Crazy Rich Asians being shot in Kuala Lumpur .
He travelled to the Hong Kong AAF in May which proved hghly successful before taking up a position as artist in residence at CAP studio in Thailand . Due to the success of the April art fair in Singapore he has been invited back to show work in November.
